	New York's City Hall is one of the city's most opulent pieces of architecture (and that, clearly, is saying something). That's all the more surprising because it was completed in 1812 - an early forestaste of the eminence of the city. On Wednesdays (though do check for occasional exceptions) free tours of the building are offered: you'll need to get a ticket from 10am at the tourism kiosk at the south side of City Hall Park, then tours begin at noon.
