The Badia Fiorentina on the Via Dante Alighieri (Dante was a regular visitor) was founded in 978 as a Benedictine abbey - and there are still monks there even now. Once a week they let in visitors to see the glorious surroundings they worship in, including the medieval Cloister of the Oranges - on Mondays, between 3pm and 6pm. Go in and take a look at a unique combination of art, architecture and Florentine history.
